Defender ate my download
You downloaded Tavra.exe, went to run it, and it's gone. Defender got there first. Restore it, then make sure it doesn't happen again.
Step 1 — Add the folder exclusion (if you haven't)
Otherwise anything you restore just vanishes again.
Step 2 — Restore Tavra.exe from quarantine
1
Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection
Windows key → type Windows Security → open → left rail Virus & threat protection.
2
Click Protection history
Under Current threats. Shows every file Defender has acted on.
3
Find the Tavra entry → Actions → Restore
Filename looks like tavra-a4b8c2f1.exe. Click to expand, then Actions → Restore. Defender drops it back where it was.
4
Drag it into your Tavra folder
Move the restored file into your excluded Tavra folder. Now it's safe.
Not in Protection history?
Defender sometimes clears the history. Just re-download — every download is a fresh file. Make sure the exclusion is in place first.
You're done when…
Tavra.exe sits in your Tavra folder and doesn't vanish after 30 seconds.
